Beautiful Stars
Coming to Curacao from North America or Europe you will see a different sky at night. The southern hemisphere, is quite different from what you might be used to in the northern hemisphere. Watamula and Westpunt are not polluted light so the sky is clear. (Except from a faint light on the horizon from Aruba in the west.)
Here is what to look for:
Southern Cross: One of the most famous and recognizable constellations in the southern hemisphere is the Southern Cross. This constellation is not visible from the northern hemisphere and is a symbol of the southern hemisphere.
Centaurus: Another constellation that is only visible from the southern hemisphere is Centaurus. It is one of the largest constellations in the night sky and contains several bright stars and star clusters.
Magellanic Clouds: The Magellanic Clouds are two small irregular galaxies that are only visible from the southern hemisphere. They are easily visible from Curacao on a clear night and are a beautiful sight.
Bright Stars: The southern hemisphere is home to several bright stars that are not visible from the northern hemisphere, such as Achernar and Canopus.
